In a perpetually damp, isolated, and surrealistic medieval world, a lonely young daughter stumbles across an ancient, monstrous Beast in the nearby forest. When she tries to warn her household, however, The Daughter quickly discovers that her family would rather believe in the protection of the family deity, the small and decrepit Boy-Child-Marionette, than take any kind of preventative action. In order to protect her people, The Daughter is forced to battle the inaction at the foundation of her family’s belief, all whilst struggling with her own faith and facing ostracisation.
